Magnetic Products- Company History

MPI began its magnetic products operations in 1981. Key cornerstones of the company’s creation were to advance the current technology of permanent magnets used in industry and to provide a basic understanding of selecting and maintaining magnetic equipment to meet user expectations. These cornerstone principles continue to drive the company today and are considered a main component of the MPI Mission Statement.

In 1981 MPI began with a focused effort to improve the performance of permanent magnetic separators. This resulted into a new standard of performance for this type of magnetic equipment by the mid 1980’s. Today, easy cleaning manually operated and self cleaning automatic permanent magnetic separators are common place in the magnet industry worldwide. MPI is proud to have been the leader in this advancement of technology and takes pride in setting the industry standard in permanent magnet separator equipment design and performance. As MPI has grown over the past twenty plus years, these same product development principles have been expanded to include magnetic conveying, automation and material handling equipment.

MPI has also become a leader in providing users with basic education regarding proper application, selection and maintenance of magnetic equipment. This ensures users that equipment performance expectations and limitations are understood before investments are made on new plant equipment. With a basic understanding of how magnetic equipment works, users can determine if existing equipment is able or not, to meet their process expectations. MPI participates with major multi-national corporations, engineering firms, industry associations and educational institutions to provide basic education on the proper use and application of magnetic equipment.

Going forward, MPI will continue its tradition of advancing product performance and expansion of its broad line of magnetic and non-magnetic, material handling equipment solutions. A significant contribution in this effort will continue to come from ideas developed by listening to what MPI customers say they want and need. This invaluable product development resource will continue to drive the products and services MPI provides long into the future.
