MPI's exclusive “Quick-Clean” Magnetic Chutes (MC Series) are designed to remove medium- to large-size ferrous tramp metal contaminants from high-volume product flows in gravity-fed vertical chutes. The MC-Series magnets are ideal for use with heavy product flows which would otherwise bridge or choke if filtered through magnetic grates. MPI's MC-Series magnets are used in many industries, including the food, feed, chemical and grain to improve product quality and protect equipment, such as milling, processing and packaging.
Operation:
The product stream flows between two large and powerful permanent magnets located on either side of the chute. There, a center diverter directs the product flow toward the two magnetic faces, which are “stepped” to minimize tramp metal “wash-off.” As tramp metal contaminants come in contact with the magnetic field, they attach themselves to the magnetic face. After the product stream is terminated, the “quick-clean” drawer assembly opens to safely remove the collected tramp metal from the product stream to a disposal area outside the chute.
