How It Works

MPI’s RE and SE Series Electromagnets are built with a specialized “Island Pole” design, which enhances magnetic performance for holding and positioning applications. In this configuration, the magnet’s outer edge is engineered to generate either a North or South magnetic field, which strategically surrounds the central pole. When the magnet is energized, this layout creates a focused and concentrated magnetic circuit that directs magnetic force inward toward the center of the magnet.

This island pole effect significantly improves the magnet’s holding strength and accuracy by concentrating the magnetic energy where it's most needed—directly beneath the part being held.
