MPI Announces New Pneumatic Automated Fanner Magnet

MPI has made significant improvements on its automated fanner magnet design. Specifically for fully automated production lines, the Pneumatic Automated Fanner Magnet features a simple design that has fewer wear items and heavily loaded components. Unlike traditional sheet separators, our system rotates the magnet away from the unit face, which eliminates any residual magnetic field and allows for safer and more consistent movement of metal sheets. MPI’s Pneumatic Automated Fanner Magnets significantly increase uptime by eliminating “double sheets” when handling oily, sticky or pre-finished blanks in automated stamping, forming and shearing operations.

The new Pneumatic Automated Fanner Magnet was built with the customer in mind. Not only does it eliminate pinch points and keep its operator safe and in control, MPI has engineered a wider magnet distribution, which allows for a much stronger magnetic field, meaning better “hold” on the metal sheets. There is an indicator so the operator always knows when the magnet is “on” or “off”. The new Pneumatic Automated Fanner Magnet also has a smaller footprint – it weighs 33% less, is two inches narrower in width and four inches less in depth than the previous model.
