MPI (Magnetic Products, Inc) is actively recruiting for a Regional Sales Manager for our Midwest Territory. We have a very diverse product range sold into many different manufacturing processes, from complete metal control systems such as industrial magnets and metal detection systems for the food, plastics, chemical and recycling industries, to conveyors and material handling equipment for the metal fabricating industry. We are looking for a goal driven sales professional to help take the territory to the next level. This remote position reports directly to the Sales Manager of the Americas and will be responsible for the sales of company products throughout the territory. Responsibilities include management and training of current Manufacturer’s Representatives, identifying and capturing prospective customers within the territory, and managing relationships with the existing customer base. We are looking for “Hunters” who are not afraid to get into the trenches and work hard to develop business. This position requires minimum 50% travel throughout Michigan, Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Achieve company sales goals and market-based objectives for assigned region
  • Assist, train and coach sales channel partners through regular fieldwork conducted throughout the territory. This will be achieved by scheduling visits to Sales Channel Partners (SCPs) and traveling with them to potential accounts.
  • Nurture existing business within the territory
  • Develop new business within the territory in line with the sales plan expectations

Must Have:

  • Ability to travel 50% of the time or more through the territory
  • Proven professional sales skills
  • Experience managing a sales territory in an effective, transparent and organized manner
  • Goal and results focused approach to sales, combination of “hunting” new business and “farming” existing business
  • Proven ability to consistently beat targets and/or goals
  • Ability to learn a wide variety of technical products and their applications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (mostly Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Experience with the key responsibilities above

Nice to Have:

  • Technical sales background
  • Experience selling capital equipment
  • In depth knowledge of the following industries: manufacturing; food processing and safety; conveying equipment; magnetic separation equipment; sorting equipment; metal detection; recycling
  • Experience with reading AutoCAD or other drafting software is a plus
  • Experience with Visual Manufacturing (ERP system) and/or Prophet (CRM System) software is a plus
  • Proven negotiation skills

MPI is actively searching for an Inside Sales Representative focusing on our material handling product line and custom fabricated products. The ideal candidate would have experience with conveyor equipment and estimating fabricated parts. In this career, you will be responsible for helping current and potential customers match the right MPI product(s) with their application, solving their business challenges. Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Respond to customer phone calls, e-mails and online requests with professionalism to generate new customer orders
  • Receive and process customer RFQs (request for quotation) for their application to provide quotations on MPI products
  • Follow up and close open quotations using our CRM software
  • Process won orders through ERP system so products are built to the correct specification
  • Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely responses and effective resolutions to any concerns

Must Have:

  • 3 years experience quoting highly engineered custom machinery/equipment
  • Task oriented and assertive
  • Energetic and motivated with a strong desire to succeed in a fast-paced sales environment
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Confident phone presence and excellent active listening skills
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use Microsoft Office software
  • Experience working with manufacturers representatives
  • Ability to read blueprints for dimensional, layout and specification information

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with magnetic and material handling equipment
  • Experience with conveyors
  • Experience with estimating fabricated parts
  • Experience in the stamping, metal fabricating, or fastener markets
  • Inside sales management experience
  • Experience with our ERP system, Visual Manufacturing
  • Plant engineering or maintenance background
  • Working knowledge of “Bill of Materials” within a manufacturing environment
