Protect Product Purity
MPI’s Metal Detector for Pneumatic Lines is a high-speed, inline detection system engineered to identify and remove ferrous, non-ferrous, and stainless-steel contaminants from pneumatically conveyed materials. Designed for integration into pressure or vacuum conveying systems, this compact, high-sensitivity unit inspects bulk powders, granulates, pellets, or small particulate materials in vertical or horizontal lines—without disrupting material flow or system pressure.
Equipped with a ring-shaped detection coil, a fast response reject mechanism, and durable, hygienic construction, the system provides continuous inspection and automatic contaminant removal. Whether installed in a food, plastics, chemical, or pharmaceutical facility, MPI’s Pneumatic Line Metal Detector safeguards downstream equipment, preserves product quality, and ensures compliance with global quality and safety standards like HACCP, GFSI, FSMA, and GMP.

Pneumatic Line Metal Detector Product Details
MPI’s Metal Detector for Pneumatic Lines is installed directly into a pressure or vacuum pipeline system used to convey dry bulk products via air pressure. The detector consists of a ring-shaped electromagnetic coil that surrounds the product flow tube. As material travels through the detection zone at high velocity, it passes through the electromagnetic field generated by the coil.
If a metallic contaminant—such as ferrous wire, non-ferrous shavings, or stainless-steel fragments—enters the detection field, it causes a measurable disturbance. The system’s digital signal processor evaluates the signal and, if it exceeds the preset sensitivity threshold, triggers the reject system.
The integrated reject mechanism—usually a pneumatically actuated diverter valve or air-blast nozzle—activates instantly to remove the contaminated material into a separate reject chamber. Clean product continues flowing through the pipeline without interruption. The system can log each event, validate reject performance, and provide visual/audible alerts as needed.
