Built for Abrasive Processing and Heavy Contamination
Magnetic Products Inc. (MPI) Carbon and Stainless-Steel Drawer Magnets are designed to remove ferrous metal contaminants from dry, free-flowing materials in gravity-fed systems. These drawer magnets offer a cost-effective, durable solution for protecting processing equipment and ensuring product purity. Built with sturdy carbon or stainless-steel housing, these magnets are ideal for use in industries such as plastics, food processing, chemicals, and recycling, where high-performance magnetic separation is essential.
Carbon Steel and Stainless-Steel Drawer Magnets are designed to offer optimal tramp metal protection for plastic injection molding and extrusion equipment. They are particularly effective when working with plastic regrind materials, which often contain elevated levels of tramp metal.
MPI’s Drawer Magnets excel in delivering superior tramp metal protection for plastic injection molding and extruding machinery. Our carbon steel and stainless-steel drawer magnets present a cost-effective solution with numerous benefits and features that are absent in competing products. The CDM and SDM Drawer Magnets are well-suited for handling plastic regrind materials with potentially higher tramp metal content. Employing MPI's robust CDM or SDM Drawer Magnets can help minimize equipment maintenance, avoid damage, and enhance the production of quality parts.

Ceramic Carbon or Stainless Steel Injection Molding Drawer Magnet Product Details
The Carbon and Stainless-Steel Drawer Magnets (CDM & SDM) are designed to provide continuous magnetic protection for processing equipment by effectively capturing ferrous contaminants from dry, free-flowing materials. These units are installed between the feed hopper and machine throat openings, ensuring clean and contaminant-free material flow into downstream processing equipment.
Each drawer magnet unit consists of a robust housing containing one or more rows of high-intensity magnetic tubes. As materials such as plastic resin, powders, or granules flow through the unit:
- The strong permanent magnetic tubes generate an intense magnetic field, attracting and capturing tramp metal contaminants, including screws, metal shavings, and fine iron particles.
- The clear polycarbonate drawer face allows operators to visually monitor both material flow and contaminant accumulation, ensuring efficient separation and timely maintenance.
To maintain peak performance, operators must periodically remove trapped contaminants from the magnetic tubes. This simple manual cleaning process involves:
- Loosening the quick-release swing bolt latches – This allows easy access to the magnetic drawer assembly.
- Sliding out the magnet drawer – The entire assembly is carefully pulled out for cleaning.
- Removing trapped contaminants – The ferrous particles collected on the magnetic tubes are manually wiped or scraped off.
- Repositioning the drawer assembly – Once cleaned, the magnet drawer is slid back into place and securely latched for continued operation.
This efficient, tool-free cleaning process ensures uninterrupted material flow while maintaining the highest level of metal contamination control.
