MPI High-Pressure Liquid Trap Magnets provide superior metal separation and system protection in demanding processing applications. By effectively capturing ferrous contaminants, these units prevent equipment wear, reduce downtime, and maintain product integrity across various industries.

Contaminant Capture

  • As the liquid or slurry flows through the unit, it passes around and through a series of high-intensity magnetic tubes housed within the trap.
  • Ferrous contaminants are attracted to the powerful magnetic surface and securely retained on the downstream side of the tubes. This strategic placement prevents tramp metal “wash-off”, ensuring that contaminants remain trapped even under continuous flow conditions.
  • The high-pressure design (up to 150 PSI at 120°F) ensures that contamination removal occurs without restricting flow rates or disrupting the overall system performance.

Separation of Non-Magnetic Particles

  • While ferrous contaminants adhere to the magnetic tubes, non-magnetic particles are naturally separated by gravity and collected in a sump located beneath the magnetic element.
