Round Spout Drawer Magnet

MPI’s Round Spout Drawer Magnets (RSDM) are designed to effectively capture and remove ferrous metal contaminants from dry, free-flowing materials as they pass through a round spout or pipe system. The system leverages high-intensity rare earth magnetic tubes arranged in one or two tiers, depending on the application’s level of metal separation requirements.

Product Flow Through Magnetic Tubes

As material moves through the gravity-fed or pneumatic conveying system, it passes through one or two rows of 1” diameter magnetic tubes, which create a highly effective magnetic circuit. In two-tier models, the staggered tube arrangement prevents bridging or choking of the product stream, ensuring smooth material flow while maximizing contact with the magnetic surface for superior filtration.

Efficient Metal Capture & Retention

As the product flows through the housing, ferrous tramp metal contaminants are attracted to and retained on the underside of the magnetic tubes. This prevents metal “wash-off” and ensures contaminants are securely held away from the clean product stream. The powerful rare earth magnets provide continuous separation, enhancing product purity and protecting downstream processing equipment.

• Securely Mounted Magnetic Tubes – The tubes are bolted or welded onto the drawer front, ensuring a durable, stable structure capable of handling continuous material flow.
• Internal Drawer Supports – The drawer support system prevents the tubes from cantilevering into the product flow, reducing wear and maintaining consistent performance.
• Sani-TIGHT Seal™ Gasket – A compression-style “O-ring” cord gasket with a ½” thick machined stainless sealing plate provides a 100% positive seal that cannot be over-compressed. The sanitary, adhesive-free design allows for easy removal and replacement during wash-downs.

Easy Cleaning and Maintenance

• Quick Access Cleaning – The front door panel, with magnetic tubes attached, can be unlatched and removed quickly, allowing cleaning to be performed outside the product flow area.
• Magnet Element Support Ledge – This feature ensures proper alignment when reinserting the magnet element after cleaning, making reinstallation fast and precise before refastening the swing bolt latches.
• Manual or Quick-Clean Options – MPI offers configurations that allow for either manual cleaning or a quick-clean mechanism, reducing downtime and ensuring efficient contaminant removal.
