Intell-I-Mag® Enhanced Separation Technology
MPI’s Intell-I-Mag® 2″ Tube Drawer Magnet utilizes one or more rows of 2” diameter magnetic tubes to filter ferrous metal from bulk free-flowing product streams. All 2” drawer magnet systems have our patented Intell-I-Mag® technology installed or are Intell-I-Mag® ready for a future upgrade. The 2” diameter magnetic tube creates a stronger magnetic field designed to remove small to medium-sized ferrous contaminants. The magnetic bars are positioned at a wider, engineered distance to form a higher separation yield with powerful holding force and greater flux density. This spacing also enables higher product capacity flows, especially in applications where products are known to bridge or choke. It is the optimal balance between product flow capacity and powerful magnetic separation.
Magnetic Product Inc.’s 2” tubes are the same unit height as 1″ tubes but have a stronger magnetic circuit (11.5 lbs. vs 22 lbs. (1/2” sphere pull test)) and are thicker for longer life against production wear and tear. MPI’s 2″ Tube Drawer Magnet features diverters between the tubes and has proven increased flow characteristics without sacrificing metal capture.

- Intell-I-Mag® Compatible:
- Enables real-time monitoring of magnet saturation levels of the magnetic separator. This patented technology embeds sensors into the magnetic separator to measure the strength of the magnetic field. The sensors report data collected in real-time to a controller. The controller can be programmed to alert operators when the separator reaches user defined saturation levels, so they know when the magnet needs to be cleaned, or just as important when it doesn’t.
- 2″ Diameter Magnetic Tubes:
- High-performance 2” diameter rare earth magnetic tubes are configured on 4” centers to achieve the optimal balance for powerful magnetic separation and product flow.
- Optional Product Flow Diverters:
- Installed at the housing inlet, in between each tube, optional product flow diverters are designed to slow the product flow and increase magnet on time for capturing weakly magnetic materials, such as, work-hardened stainless steel.
- Sani-TIGHT Seal™ Gasket:

Two Inch Tube Drawer Magnet Product Details
How It Works
The product stream flows through a series of 2” diameter magnetic tubes designed to create an extremely effective magnetic circuit. The row of magnetic tubes prevent bridging or choking of the product stream and maximize magnetic filtration as product flows through the housing. Tramp metal contaminants are attracted to the magnetic tubes. The pneumatically operated cleaning system safely removes tramp metal from the product stream to a disposal area outside the product flow area.
With Intell-I-Mag® sensors embedded into the system, the separator can monitor magnet saturation levels and temperatures in real-time.

The RP system provides smooth and jam-free cleaning of the magnetic tubes ensuring that all magnet tubes travel the exact same distance, at the same time, from left-to-right, top-to-bottom, resulting in reduced system wear and improved magnetic tube cleaning.
